Done in or take out, very tasty but no buffet!
No, but the lunch specials are a good deal, and the food is well prepared. I'm partial to the hot & sour soup and the kung pao chicken.
Amazing prices on their lunch menu. Good food and great customer service.
I came in today at lunch. Sat at 3:00. Had to work and kinda lost track of time. Place was deserted. Owner at the counter never smiled once or made me feel welcome. Waitress was attentive and said all the right things. Yet never smiled once. I was an easy guest with a light easy attitude. Yet they never said thank you, smiled, or .... nothing. Otherwise the place was clean. Light easy western music. I had C4 which is Szechuan (spelling?) 3 meat with white rice. It was a 9 or maybe 10 on the scale. Delicious. So I grade them with a 4 of five stars. They just were not friendly.
Great food and very clean. Nice people.
The food is good. I especially like the tofu /bean curd dishes.
Great Chinese restaurant and very affordable lunch menu
Best take out we have had since moving to town.
Great food, well priced. Lots of options. Great takeout
Pretty good food, a little bit of a wait if you eat in. Highly recommend if you're getting takeout. The yellow curry is quite good.
I just called in to do an order from my father for father’s say and this establishment was horrible to me. They did not trust to order ahead of time as most reputable Chinese restaurants do. The lady was mean and nasty and I would t suggest this restaurant to my dog. Wouldn’t even give them a whole star. They even said they were slow — and turned down my business after offering to pay ahead with my credit card. Horrible!
Food here was nasty! The worst Chinese food I’ve ever had. I don’t usually write reviews, but I’ve spent $39 on food that had no flavor and chicken that was hard!
Food and service was good, no complaints there... But avoid the hot tea, must've steeped it for a week or two and it was not good in a very memorable way.
I've had 2 meals here and they were FANTASTIC , add my daughter's and that makes 4. Delivery, take out and dine in. Small and tasteful restaurant, good service. I could eat here 3 times a week.
Skip this place! Hard rice, over cooked crab rangoon, and super oily chicken lo mein. For 40 bucks, there's much better options.
very good food and service and usually very clean. the floor was a little sticky on our last visit. hopefully they will address this before our next visit.
Ordered food, waited 30 minutes for a to go order. Server had my food sitting in the waiting area and did not inform me until I asked. Will not go back.
The rice noodles are my favorite! Great experience every time and friendly service!!
Just a small neighborhood Chinese restaurant always good and fresh reasonably priced.
Egg Foo Young normally fresh was hard and brown👎🏾
Great Chinese food
Food was great, service was great but the waitress had NO personality
It was ok.. I've had better but yet it wasnt the worst😇
Always love going! My favorite Chinese place ever!
This place is always so good. The food was amazing and my waitress was so sweet. Also the music they play is so nice and I always appreciate a quiet restaurant. 10/10
We went for the first time today for take out. Everything was very good. The chicken was very good cuts of meat. The Kung Pao chicken was spicy but not too hot. The sesame chicken was really good too. We WILL go back.
Not sure what the bad reviews are about, we are local and just tried the new owners for the first time, best Chinese I have eaten in a very long time. Good on you!
Rude!Negative conversationBoldly unemphaticTalk to you crazyTotal nightmareWon't ever be back!
Was good, not great. Employees were very rude and I probably won't be back.
Nice place. Food is great. Love their hot and sour soup, the egg rolls and the entrees. Is way out of my area, but when I'm in the mood for Asian food, I don't mind the drive. It's my go to place.
Lunch specials until 4:00 throughout the week. I can feed my family of 5 and have left overs for around $30. We love this place
Always great and fresh food. Great service with a smile. I love the Hunan chicken and hot and sour soup! So yummy!
Chinatown lunch special is great. No complaints.
Phenomenal! Amazing service! Everyone was so warm and friendly. But this is seriously the absolute best Chinese food I have ever had in my life. Each and every bite of each item was so delicious. Also, it was a very relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere.
Food is always fresh. Vegetable selections include baby corn, snow peas, and broccoli. General Tso's chicken breading is fried perfect every time. Spicy Szechuan beef is another favorite. However there's usually only one waitress. Fast to go orders.
The service could have been better the man who was I think the owner didn't say one word to me or even look at me the entire time I was there and the waitress needs to work on being friendlier. I do appreciate the fact that the place was very clean and nicely decorated. The dumplings were extremely greasy and the egg fu young was terrible to me.
Great hot and sour soup, good sized lunch portions. Good service. Mongolian beef was tasty but a bit greasy.
When Forbidden City in the mall shut down, I was super bummed. I ordered from this place via Bite Squad sometime last year, and I was shocked to find it was the same food. I just wish the new location was a little more central to the rest of the city.
The waitress asked me a question and I couldn't understand what she said so I asked her if she could repeat herself. She snapped at me and acted angry towards me for the rest of the night. It was a very uncomfortable experience. My food was also drowned in sweet and sour--it wasn't balanced at all, and honestly it did not very taste good.
I've been eating here since they opened and ate from them for years when they owned the Forbidden Garden in Park Plaza. Joey, the owner, has probably fed me more than any person that is not a family member. Great comfort food and friendly staff.
Great food and quick service. Especially loved the soup.
What a terrible customer service. I asked the guy when will the order be ready. He said”I don’t know” I asked him “can you give me estimate time “ he said no I don’t know. And I asked him if it will be ready in 10 minutes, he said got mad and “how many times I need to tell you I don’t know, I don’t know. Go wait outside. Go outside. If you want, you can cancel the order” what a disrespectful, rude, ridiculous behavior from restaurant worker/maybe owner. I will never ever come to this place.
This place is small but the food is top notch hot tea is very good
Nice and quiet. Friendly staff and very good food. One of the few places you can get Oolong tea
My favorite Chinese Restaurant in Little Rock. For those that don’t know they are the same people who had Forbidden City in the Mall years ago. Yes they are and I’m glad I found them after a few years. They are great!!!
Good food, expensive. Very rude people working in here. Don't go in expecting smiling, happy faces. They're not happy to see you
They have a great lunch menu. I believe their egg drop soup is the best in Little Rock. They egg foo young is also awesome.
The owner/waitress are the MOST rudest people I've ever met in a Restaurant setting. Once when I had to request a refund because the food was extremely spicey, the owner lady JERKED the 10.00 Dollar bill right out of my hand. However prior to this incident, I have had several meals there as the food is good, even tho it's a bit on the expensive side..All the times I've eaten there, the SAME waitress (there is only one) has NEVER EVER smiled. They are just NOT happy to see you. So if you like a depressing setting and a depressing waitress, then this is the place for you.
Most Chinese restaurants are as different from one another as McDonald's joints. But Forbidden Garden is different. Not just the menu, but the flavors are out of the ordinary from what you get at the standard Chinese take-away. This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in Little Rock, or perhaps tying Mr. Chen's. I recommend trying the Basil Chicken (comes stir-fried with a lot of peppers, but isn't very spicy for all that) or the Cumin Beef for delicious dishes you won't find just anywhere.
The best little get away, it’s nicely tucked and it’s a great place to come for a quite and peaceful dinner. The music is always perfect and creates an enjoyable experience. Then there’s the FOOD. The Orange chicken is by far my favorite and don’t let out the SAKE 😏😉
Food tastes old. Not very good
We have gotten take out here for a long time. Just ate in for the first time and we were very impressed with the service! Highly recommend
